It’s hard to believe last week I had one of the best weeks of my life listening and playing the music I love. Again, thanks for your vision and knowledge. TK

I want to thank you again for putting together and actualizing last week’s jazz experience. It was such a high for me. For the last year, I haven’t played jazz with people in the same room. But it was more than that. The campers were a special bunch of people each bringing a unique approach and sound to the group. The plan on paper worked out in real time. I loved the country environment with a vibrant college town so close by. Of course you, Pat, are a fantastic music educator but the additions of Stefan, Meghan and Chris Parker made it so much more. While my playing skill was below those of the other campers, I could understand the theory presented and work to apply it. I felt challenged, but not overwhelmed.

The topics were presented in a way that could benefit all of the levels present without diluting it for the more experienced folks and not overwhelming the less experienced. It was also a VERY supportive environment that didn't make anyone feel out of place!

I liked that we covered way fewer tunes, but in much more depth. We even got the chance to play multiple rounds of solos on a tune.

A great week of music, playing, learning, and listening with a great group of people.

Faculty were accessible, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and supportive. A good teacher relays information in an accessible way; a great teacher brings out the best in the students. The faculty are great teachers.

The format offered break times and some meals together so there was plenty of time for that and playing together during the sessions was also beneficial.

Faculty was very knowledgeable about the subject matter. Everyone no matter what level was given constructive criticism and advice on their playing.

Couldn't have asked for more interaction with Pat. It was great getting to know the other instructors and learn from them. And to play with Stefan the whole time.

The faculty were amazingly receptive, helpful, relaxed, and kind. The whole week just felt good.

It was a wonderful experience and one that I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to take their improvisation to the next level.

I am so glad that I was able to be part of the experience. I'm grateful for the faculty sharing their time and talents!

This combo format, even with a relatively large number of participants, really worked well. The immediate integration of the theory and comments was very good, and the flexible format allowed for some really interesting and mind expanding exercises (free playing and scatting most notably). The faculty were exceptional and having them there to demonstrate and solo was great to learn from and just to hear! Faculty concerts were great as well!!

The atmosphere for the camp was very relaxed and everyone seemed engaged and willing to learn. I feel like I was part of something special and I look forward to participating in the future as a camper, organizer, teacher. GREAT JOB!
